With the cardinal's own motto, everyone is invited on September 17, 2022 jubilee atonement walking pilgrimage organized in memory and example of Cardinal Mindszenty

The pilgrimage, for the ninth time since the political change, starts from Városmajor in memory of the fact that 75 years ago the cardinal and prince-primate proclaimed the "Year of the Blessed Virgin Mary" and led 100,000 male pilgrims on this road as an atonement to Mary's grave.

The Pilgrimage scenario:

Meeting in Városmajor (XII. Csaba utca 5.) from 7 o'clock . In Városmajor, Father Zoltán Horváth undertook the moderation, leading the prayers and songs.

Departure at 8 o'clock. The pilgrimage is led by: Bishop Gábor Mohos and parish priest Alajos Forgács.

Planned program:

  • The 20-minute reflections given during the procession between the rosary prayers (singing and prayer are led by Major Ferenc Sapszon):
  • Dr. Ferenc Cserháti "Pastor at home and abroad, throughout his life"
  • Dr. Csaba Török: "The Venerable Cardinal"
  • Dr. Ferenc Beran "Common features in the struggles of Cardinals Mindszenty and Wyszynski"
  • Dr. Máriameret Father László Monostori welcomes the arriving pilgrims and leads the introductory devotion.  
  • Cardinal Dr. Péter Erdő will present a Holy Mass to the pilgrims at Máriameret at 12:00 p.m.

Afternoon programs:

  • Joy concert with the music service of Zoltán Kodály Choir School.
  • An intervening, prayerful occasion with the presentation of a part of the new Mindszenty nine
  • Conversation about miracles: with the participation of Bea Madocsai, László Monostori and Gergely Kovács.
  • Prayer hour and adoration, testimonies and placing our prayer intentions led by László Monostori, with the choir of the Budapest Singing School (Schola Cantorum Budapestiensis).
  • With the support of the Budapest Tuning program, we plan to create a "pilgrim reception gate", "information tent", "quiet prayer corner", "children's stage", "lunch area" and "common agape table" in the garden of the hermitage church..

Dr. József Boldvai is a secular organizer, recipient of the József Mindszenty Lifetime Achievement Award.
