The Voice of the Koloni Zobor Mixed School September 9-11, 2022. between: The past and future of Hungarian choral singing in Kolon celebrates its 50th anniversary (+1) within the framework of the festival. anniversary.

The festival begins on Friday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m., with informal group singing on the open-air stage in Bóros, in which not only choir members, but all interested parties can join.

The festive program continues on Saturday, September 10, in the Szent István church in the colony.

In addition to the jubilant choir, the concert starting at 4 p.m. will feature the Hungarian students of the elementary school in the colony, the Napsugár women's choir from the district and the Tokaj Város Vegyeskara from Hungary.

The three-day festival ends with the Sunday mass at 11 a.m., in which the Tokaj Város Vegyeskara participates. The Tokaj choir gives a short concert after the mass.

During the festival, the "Megérint a múlte" exhibition from the life and performances of the jubilant choir can be viewed in the cultural center of the colony. Zobor Hangja Vegyeskar invites everyone to celebrate 50(+1) with them. birthday!

The choir was founded at the initiative of Csemadok in 1971 under the leadership of Géza Dunajszky in Kolon.

In 1979, the choir was led by dr. Viktor Simek took over, and after the regime change, the choir took a break. It was re-established in 1999, in 2004 Gabriella Brath took over the captain's baton, followed in 2007 by Viktória Balla, Imre Varga and Hajnalka Tóth. Since 2013, Antal Csáky has led the choir.

Since the formation of the team, it has been a regular participant in the cultural life of Kolon and Zoboralja.

Since 2007, they have been organizing Advent concerts in the villages of Zoboralja together with the Hungarian Choir of the Konstantin Filosófus University in Nitra and the Zoltán Kodály Song Circle from Galanta. In 2001, he co-organized the XXV. Lajos Bárdos Choir Meeting, and between 2006 and 2011 the I., II. and III. Zoboralji International Choir Festival.

The choir took part several times in the Kodály Napokon, the qualification competition for Hungarian adult choirs in Slovakia. So far, it boasts 1 bronze, 2 silver and 6 gold crowns. They have already sung in several districts of southern Slovakia, but also abroad, in Hungary, the Czech Republic and France.

So far, two of their recordings have been released, entitled Csillagvirág and Csillagfény.
