The Western ruling class will soon learn that when moralistic idealism collides with reality, the result is tragedy.

The same European leadership led the self-destructive crusade to punish Russia for its imperialism in Ukraine, which declares Hungary undemocratic,
because the Hungarian people have the image to believe that they should manage their own affairs. Two things can be true at the same time: Russia was evil to invade Ukraine, and that a continuation of the proxy war with Russia is likely to destroy Europe economically or worse.
Later in this terrible winter, when huge crowds of cold and angry Europeans fill the streets of European capitals and demand the heads of the leaders who led them into this dark forest, Viktor Orbán will be seen as the only statesman who saw , what Europe is doing to itself and tried to stop the collective suicide. Or, even darker, the European ruling class and the media are trying to scapegoat him and Hungary for their utter failure. I strongly encourage my American readers to pay more attention to this story.
By forcing European governments to be imperfect against Russia, the United States is creating an extremely strong reserve of anti-Americanism among the European population. Some European countries may have been foolish to allow themselves to become so dependent on Russian energy supplies, but pointing our Yankee fingers at Europeans and demanding that they freeze in the dark to punish Russia will not be a popular position among the European population when in January, the lights go out and the heating is turned off.
