The garbage has not been taken away in Budapest since Tuesday. The main person responsible for the situation is Gergely Karácsony and his multibillionaire company manager friend, Gyurcsány branch Imre Mártha. Mártha was previously in the news for living in amazing luxury. The left-wing city administration is unable to handle the crisis situation despite the fact that Budapest has an unprecedented surplus of income.

A real riot broke out at the Ecseri út site of Budapesti Közművek (BKM)'s waste transportation plant in Southern Pest on Tuesday morning, which continued on Wednesday morning, as no result was achieved that would have satisfied the protesting workers.

The workers were outraged that Ágoston Tringer, BKM's communications director, said two weeks ago that it is good to be a garbage collector at BKM's FKF Waste Management Division, since "a garbage collector in Budapest can take home a gross salary of up to HUF 500,000 per month, depending on performance."

HOWEVER, THIS WAS JUST THE LAST DROP IN THE GLASS, THE WORKERS NOW ALSO ASKED THEIR PREVIOUSLY UNHEARD REQUESTS FROM THE MANAGERS OF BKM, WHO APPEARED AT THE SITE IN THE MEANTIME.

The monthly salary of garbage collectors does not exceed HUF 220-250 thousand net, which is not accompanied by any extra benefits. Garbage collectors who perform heavy physical work get up at 5:30 a.m. every day, and if necessary, work in rain, snow, and frost, not exactly in clean conditions. So far, no agreement has been reached between the parties.

And at the beginning of the summer, we wrote about how the situation at FKF was already so bad that there was a lack of bins. The 120-liter communal and residential 120-liter paper collection containers with blue lids are almost sold out, so new contract holders and those who wanted to change models have to wait a long time again.

It is quite clear that the capital led by Gergely Karácsony is most responsible for the development of the situation. The mayor is unable to manage public services. The other main person responsible for the current situation is Imre Mártha, who is much more concerned with his luxury yachts and cars worth hundreds of millions than with the situation of the workers.

In contrast to the chaos in Budapest, as we have already reported several times, Imre Mártha's fortune is growing at an astonishing rate. Last year alone, the profit of his company, Lázár Houses Kft., increased by five thousand percent.

AND THIS IS ONLY THE TIP OF THE ICEBER, BECAUSE HE WAS ABLE TO INCREASE HIS WEALTH ESTABLISHED AS MVM LEADER IN THE GYURCSÁNY ERA YEAR BY YEAR, AND TODAY HE IS ALREADY IN THE NEWS FIRST WITH HIS LUXURY HOLIDAYS, YACHTS, HOTEL BILLS OF ONE AND A HALF MILLION DAILY AND HIS BENTLEY.

Over the years, he has accumulated a multibillion-dollar fortune, some experts estimate his real estate assets at HUF 50-60 billion. According to the available company documents, the company he manages owns at least 30 high-value properties: several apartments in very valuable locations in Budapest (including his 2-billion-dollar villa in Svábhegy), an equally valuable property in Veszprém, dozens of rural properties, including a large number of rural liquor stores are also included in the company's name.

Allegedly, through a joint stock company, he primarily owns and manages the multi-billion-dollar port of Balatonalmád, where he regularly docks with his custom-designed ship. After this, it is not surprising that he also has a villa worth - according to some calculations - HUF 300 million.

It is important to know that Budapest has the best budget situation in the whole country. According to the latest data, this year more business tax may flow into the coffers of Budapest than in the peak year of 2019 before Covid.

It is therefore clear that the situation of the protesting workers could be settled, because there are enough resources.

2022Plusz: But it could also be that garbage collection is too much of a luxury!
