The acquisition of evidence in the case of sexual violence in Jobbik last December is still in full swing, the spokesperson of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Prosecutor's Office informed Magyar Hírlapot. The classification of the act has not changed either: the proceedings are ongoing for the crime of violation of personal freedom.
In the investigation into the crime of violation of personal freedom in the hunting lodge in Ököritófülpös, the investigating authority is constantly gathering evidence, witness interviews are ongoing. No questioning of suspects took place - said László Szilágyi, the spokesperson of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Prosecutor's Office, when contacted by the newspaper.
As a reminder: the Jobbik riot, which has become a national scandal, was organized by István Földi, the joint candidate of the six-party opposition, in the town of Szatmár on December 11 last year to celebrate his victory in the primary election. Party chairman Péter Jakab and his life partner, Enikő Molnár, the cabinet chief from Mamus, also took part in the party. The gathering could best be described as vile drunkenness - this was stated by the victim, Anita V., who was invited as a constituency organizer. However, his partner, György Szilágyi, the vice president of Jobbik, was not invited. After a long struggle, the victim finally filed a criminal complaint only after the parliamentary election, also with regard to his party.
According to the victim's report, it was only due to the intervention of his party colleague, member of parliament Csaba Gyüre, that the violence did not occur.
She claimed that after the party's regional director led her into a room, he locked the door, and István Földi, who was in the room, pushed her into the toilet, where he tried to rape her.
Party chairman Péter Jakab and his cabinet chief Enikő Molnár also participated in the event, but did not intervene. As the victim put it, the party president was so drunk that he almost collapsed, and his partner, referred to as a "mommy lady", didn't even hear him when the victim was yelling at the rapist right next to him on the dance floor, who caught him in front of everyone, reported V. Anita.
He was a confidant of Péter Jakab Földi, and the party chairman - or his chief of staff - did not do anything for months to investigate what happened, despite the fact that the victim's partner, György Szilágyi, the Jobbik vice-chairman, had already informed him on December 13 last year. The party kept the matter quiet due to the parliamentary election, but details were leaked before Jobbik's reorganization in May this year. Jakab was nevertheless re-elected, but later - partly because of this case - the presidency turned against the party chairman, after which Jakab resigned.
The General Prosecutor's Office already announced in July, after the renewed cleaning, that they had ordered the investigation, for which the Nyíregyháza Police Department was appointed.
"With thirty-three years of legal practice behind me, I am aware that the outcome of the criminal case in Ököritófülpös will not be decided by István Földi's Facebook post, nor by me, nor by an illegal audio recording - deliberately made public in time for Jobbik's cleanup campaign - but by the independent Hungarian court - wrote the member of parliament Csaba Gyüre, who freed the victim, in his statement. He added: I gave my testimony in the case at the police station factually and objectively, the decision is in the hands of the authorities. The spokesperson of the Attorney General's Office also told our newspaper that there was no change in the classification of the crime, that is, the investigation is being conducted as a crime of violation of personal freedom.
