Stefan De Keersmaecker, a spokesman for the European Commission, said on Monday that Poland would not be able to access either the recovery or the cohesion fund until Warsaw fulfills all Brussels conditions regarding the independence of the courts.
Zoltán Kiszelly said
Brussels aims to topple the right-wing sovereignist Polish government and replace it with a Brussels-friendly government more committed to European integration.
Brussels wants to persuade the Polish government to withdraw the proposals made by Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro, the president of one of the smaller government coalition parties, during the judicial reform, hoping that this will lead to the dissolution of the government coalition, he said.
They may also think that if Poland doesn't get money, the Polish people will disrupt the government. Brussels is therefore playing for early elections in Poland, which they hope Donald Tusk's alliance will win, he added.
Zoltán Kiszelly noted that the reason behind the decision may also be that the Polish government plans to spend 110 billion euros on weapons and the expansion of the Polish army. If this happened, the Polish army would be much stronger than the German one.
Berlin and Brussels can therefore also think that if the Poles do not receive EU funds, they will not be able to create one of the largest armies in Europe
he explained.
Zoltán Kiszelly at Radio Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! in his program, he also said that the French, Italians, Spanish and Portuguese, who are swimming in debt, have already signed up for the money due to Hungary and Poland from the reconstruction fund, so it is very difficult for them to take out loans.
In addition, Brussels is also preparing to take out new loan packages, and while each member country was responsible for the previous loan taken out by the union in proportion to its share, in the case of the new planned loans - which they want to take out for the separation from Russian energy, the financing of utility reduction, the construction of the European army and the reconstruction of Ukraine - Brussels wants to ensure that all member countries are jointly responsible, so not only for their own money, but also for the other countries.
The political expert evaluated the fact that Hungary, as the only EU member, used the possibility of a constructive stay on Monday, during the vote on the European Union training mission launched for the Ukrainian army, as follows: Hungary takes a very consistent position and does not support the prolongation of the war. In addition, the EU becomes a belligerent if it trains Ukrainian soldiers on its own territory, so this is a very dangerous game, he added.
