András Schiffer stated to Mandiner that "Antony Blinken and Sanna Marin are at least as big warmongers as the Putin administration, and they will also have to answer for that. The first few sanctions packages were of course necessary." Because of this quote, several people criticized him, and he answered them in the Hetek podcast.
The former politician explained in the podcast about the video made by the American embassy that "I'm not an experienced diplomatic expert, but in my humble opinion, it's quite unprecedented in international relations for an embassy to make such small videos of the host country's statements.
To put it in the old language, this amounts to interference in the internal affairs of another state,
and quite simply the gesture itself is what is extremely unusual, that an embassy practically becomes part of the domestic political debates of the host country".
Regarding his statement to Mandiner, the former LMP politician specified: "A statement about Russia leaving Ukraine for the first time, which of course I morally approve as a demand. But for this in itself to be the condition for the start of negotiations, this means that the person supports escalation, even if covertly." He explained that, in his opinion, America was still the winner of the war:
"I am forced to correct what I said to the extent that it is obvious that
In the past, we did not have to talk primarily about states and machines with democratic authority, but about company groups and corporate empires.
Obviously, it is more correct to say that energy giants with basically American roots, companies involved in agribusiness, and the military industry will be the winners of this conflict, and they are already likely winners."
