Representing national interests is the most important thing for the government, and its disputes with Brussels can be traced back to this, but this does not mean that it is preparing to leave the EU, State Secretary Zoltán Kovács stated in his Facebook post.
Zoltán Kovács categorically rejected the speculation about Huxit by the English Telegraph. On his Facebook page, the state secretary responsible for international communications and relations drew attention to the fact that the Hungarian government had no intention of leaving the European Union, nor does it currently have any. We continue to envision the country's future as a member of integration.
"I would like to draw attention to two factors:
Support for EU membership is one of the highest in our country.
Exit was never an option for the government, as Viktor Orbán is currently preparing for internal reforms," said Zoltán Kovács.
The government's international spokesperson added:
"Whether it's child protection, economic policy or the war, for us the representation of the Hungarian interest is still our first priority. The conflicts with Brussels can be traced back to this and not to the intention to leave."
