The minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office handed over a life-saving chest compression device in Tiszalúc, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, on Saturday, at the jubilee ceremony of the 30-year-old ambulance station in the large village. Gergely Gulyás supported the purchase of the Lucas 3 chest compression device with more than HUF one million, the remaining amount was collected by the locals.

In his greeting, the minister called it important that serious developments be implemented in smaller settlements as well. He highlighted the grants provided by the Hungarian Village Program, which serve the purpose of ensuring that rural people have access to the same services as those in big cities in all areas.
"The countless advantages that come with living in the countryside should not be confused with the disadvantages that result from the underdevelopment of the infrastructure," said Gergely Gulyás, adding that a lot of progress has been made in terms of road renovation as well.
The minister also spoke about the fact that doctors' salaries have been increased to a large extent, and significant steps have been taken in the case of healthcare workers, but further salary increases are also needed. They try to achieve this even in "difficult years" and do everything to make it happen as soon as possible, he indicated.
At the event, Zsófia Koncz, the Fidesz parliamentary representative of the region, expressed her gratitude to the workers at the ambulance station and to everyone who helped the development of the ambulance station.
He also touched on "how much has been done in recent years", for example, the road between Tiszalúc and Tiszadob was renovated, and a waste yard was also built. He called the most important result the launch of the Tiszalúc ambulance, which has been serving the locals 24 hours a day from January this year.
Pál Győrfi, communications director of the National Ambulance Service, stated that the device that has just been handed over practically "carries the possibility of a second birthday", since it can be used to save lives. In addition to the resuscitation machine, he also emphasized the importance of the SzívCity application, which enables the first aid provider closest to the location to be directed to the patient.
Balázs Kádár, the regional director of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county of the National Rescue Service, called the opening of the rescue station in Tiszalúc of utmost importance, since, as he added, help had previously arrived from far away in the area, which is also heavily exposed to blowing snow. He said that they also supported the launch of the case car, and thanked those who supported the purchase of the Lucas device.
According to the independent mayor of Tiszalúc, Norbert Siri, the government has provided significant financial resources so that the Tiszalúc ambulance station can be expanded with 24-hour ambulance service and an ambulance from January 1st.
