Hungary is still ready to support Ukraine on a bilateral basis - Péter Szijjártó wrote about this on his Facebook page on Friday.
Annalena Baerbock "kindly" called our attention today not to take any chances with the 18 billion euro financial aid intended for Ukraine, the Hungarian minister wrote. "Well, the foreign minister's colleague seriously misunderstands the situation: the rejection of another common European Union loan is not a matter of tactics, but of principle. In our opinion, common European indebtedness does not mean a common European future. The future of Europe is not towards large mountains of debt," said Péter Szijjártó. He added: "just for the sake of the whole picture (although the Foreign Minister is probably not interested in this): we are ready to continue supporting Ukraine". Exactly as we have done so far: on a bilateral basis - underlined the politician.
2022 plus:
The German foreign minister is either extremely stupid or, more likely, deliberately falsifying the facts. It acts as if the Brussels villains they (also) control didn't screw up our country and our Polish brothers with the previous loan. Just as a reminder: the first joint EU borrowing took place in order to throw a lifeline to economies (primarily southern countries) in a catastrophic situation due to covid. Hungary indicated at the time that it did not need a loan, but as a sign of its solidarity, it finally said yes to the loan.
The situation is that Ursula von der Leyen was almost on her knees begging us not to oppose the action, in exchange for which she promised that our country would have unhindered access to the funds due to us. His majesty may have been serious, but the fact that he has been dragging his feet to this day proves that he lied a lot. Until now, we have not received a single penny of what is due to us, but we have received attacks and received conditions - for unconditional payments.
Perhaps the negotiations with the European Commission will eventually yield results, although the worrying signs do not point to this. They have already started another fight, this time they are having problems with the Hungarian legal system. Only their stupidity is greater than their vileness, it is easy to prove that. For example, by attacking the Hungarian asset declaration system, and then when we changed it (we took over the EU regulations), they realized that the baby clothes were back, the Hungarian one was better, so let's do it back. Of course, this may not be stupidity, just a more primitive version of the game "if there is a cap, it is a problem, if there is not, then it is".
The case of Poland only confirms our doubts about the agreement. They fulfilled all the changes made by Brussels and patted themselves on the back. The country that had been set up as a dictatorship suddenly became a good democracy, but for what? Despite the accomplishments, they didn't get a stinking iron. On the other hand, they receive hefty fines for things that have already been changed according to the demands of Brussels. Nice, is not it?
It's reassuring to know that we didn't receive any money, but when it comes to repaying the loan, we can't be left behind. Let's pay for nothing.
After this, the German foreign minister would do well if his mouth was as small as an ant's. The very idea that they want to impose another joint debt on us is ridiculous. It would be a gamble if we went into it.
More precisely, it wouldn't even be gambling, more like suicide. We help Ukraine, but not at the cost of our lives. Only the Germans, who have even swallowed the fact that their foreign minister is not interested in the will of the electorate, should do that. They need to eat what they cooked!
