Goose and duck liver will no longer be served at the royal residences, confirmed a letter from Buckingham Palace to animal rights activists, the BBC reports. The royal house wrote to the campaign group Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that foie gras will not be sold or served at royal residences in the future.

The letter to the organization confirms that the foie gras ban is in place in the royal household and at all royal residences, including Balmoral, Sandringham, Windsor Castle, Hillsborough Castle and Buckingham Palace.

The production of foie gras is prohibited in the UK, but it is not prohibited to sell or import it.

2022Plus:

The foie gras issue has divided Western countries for quite some time. Bird flu has also skyrocketed the price of this delicacy. However, we have to see that there are usually market and political interests behind each so-called ethical measure. According to my memories, a few years ago, while the export of foie gras from Hungary was restricted, the French increased it. It is typical of the attitude of the West that they dress economic issues in political-ethical garb if their interests so desire. Now that NATO and the European Union see that they would like to see Ukraine as one of their members - thus endangering Russia's geostrategic interests - they apply sanctions against Russia, and for ethical reasons they do not buy bloody oil. However, this war would not have broken out if Russian interests had been respected. There was an agreement on this in Minsk, which was signed by the largest European countries.

However, the United States thought otherwise and the Europeans are following suit. The goon leads the geese to the battlefield to defeat the pigs!

And the King of England does not eat foie gras! This is an ethical issue for him! But he likes to paint ducks!
