According to the Ukrainian president, this "cannot be called a serious decision".
Unfortunately, the discussion on limiting the export price of Russian crude oil has now ended without a serious decision, the Unian news agency from Zelensky's video speech in the evening. The Ukrainian president commented on the decision of the EU, according to which
the upper price limit for Russian crude oil was set at $60 per barrel.
"The decision that sets a limit corresponding to the budget of a terrorist state cannot be called serious. Russia has already caused enormous damage to all the countries of the world by deliberately destabilizing the energy market. And the world cannot decide on its real energy disarmament. This is a weak position," said the Ukrainian president.
The oil price ceiling did not please the Kremlin either, according to Dmitry Peskov, there will be retaliatory measures on the Russian side.
Ria Novosty writes in an article on Saturday: Russia does not accept the upper limit of oil prices and conducts a "quick analysis" of further market steps, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. According to the deputy head of the presidential administration
certain preparations have already been made for the introduction of restrictions,
but he did not go into detail about exactly what these are.
They remind us on the portal: the EU countries, then the G7 and Australia, agreed on a maximum price of 60 dollars per barrel for the purchase of crude oil of Russian origin. The so-called upper price ceiling for marine oil supplies will come into effect on December 5, and for petroleum products from February 5, 2023.
