Everything that is built with state money in Hungary must from now on be built to a decisive extent based on Hungarian labor and engineering knowledge, with Hungarian raw materials and technology, and growing the Hungarian economy - the political state secretary of the Ministry of Construction and Transport of the National Trade Union of Construction Contractors (ÉVOSZ) stated in Budapest on Thursday at its festive assembly.
Nándor Csepreghy said: two important pieces of legislation have been partially completed and are currently being prepared, the law regulating state investments and the framework law for the Hungarian construction industry. With these, they primarily want to assert national sovereignty, national self-sufficiency and the nation's ability to grow on its own, so that the Hungarian construction industry and transport support growth by putting Hungarian businesses in an advantageous position, he indicated.
Patriotic, protectionist economic policy is also possible within the framework of EU membership, as many Western examples show, he explained.
The formation and retention of the dominant proportion of Hungarian-owned construction enterprises is not intended to be achieved against competitive market conditions, but with programs and regulations that improve competitiveness, said the state secretary.
