The Hungarian left has always failed the Hungarians across the border. Until now, they have not stood up for the traditional national and linguistic minorities, and even now they managed to prevent a minority protection resolution from being passed in the European Parliament. With their current vote, the Gyurcsánys have confirmed what the Gyurcsánys already proved in the 2004 referendum: they will always turn their backs on the Hungarians across the border, reports the Magyar Hírlap .
At the opening of the plenary session in the European Parliament, the representatives voted for the EP resolution to confirm the UN declaration on the rights of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. However, the EP representatives of the Democratic Coalition thwarted this with their dissenting vote. As never before, the traditional national and linguistic minorities did not stand up for the Hungarians across the border.
Even before the 2004 referendum, the Gyurcsánys shamefully betrayed the Hungarians across the border with their discrediting campaign. Their vote today proves that they still do not stand up for the interests of the native Hungarian minorities, they ignore the Hungarians across the border.
