Why not pass on information about Trianon within the framework of an authentic, entertaining board game that presents all aspects of reality? – interview with Balázs Lenhardt, creator of the board game, managing director of Kard és Korona Kft.
– Their latest board game is called Trianon Replayed. "Rewrite history with the Replayed Trianon board game!" can be read in the description of the game. What exactly is the purpose of the game?
– We created this game with my historian friend Péter Limpár, in which we paid close attention to every small detail for the sake of historical authenticity. The board game reconstructs the events of a hundred years ago almost exactly.
It's a bit like a simulation, with which, within the framework of a board game, we have the opportunity to rewrite fate, to change the greatest tragedy of the Hungarian nation.
– How should this be imagined?
– The players are members of an imaginary Hungarian government, they play the foreign, interior, finance and war ministers. Since it is a fully cooperative game, the success of the game and Hungary depends not on defeating your fellow players, but on cooperation with them. In each round, event cards must be flipped, which represent effects corresponding to reality:
the enemy attacks, a strike or the Spanish flu breaks out, or the communists take over.
Players must respond to these and other similar challenges immediately.
