The British police spent 66,000 pounds on rainbow goods, including flags, selfie frames and pens, The Telegraph has learned. Over the past three years, 27 police forces in England and Wales have spent on LGBTQ-themed whistles, key chains, shoe laces, pens and lip balms.
Last night police chiefs were accused of “wasting money on woke nonsense”.
Figures released under Freedom of Information laws revealed that the 27 councils spent £66,689 on LGBT merchandise between 2019 and 2022.
South Wales Police spent the most, £24,000, on rainbow flags, face paint, t-shirts, badges, pens, whistles, armbands, bangles, spoons and forks, water bottles and key rings.
In second place was Kent Police, who spent £8,000 on rainbow whistles, key rings, wristbands, fountain pens, erasers, paper stickers, curved pens, pencils, coasters, key rings, trolley coins and ID holders.
Lancashire Police bought £1,500 worth of rainbow lip balm, flags, key rings, keyrings and stickers, while Wiltshire Police spent £538 on LGBTQ key rings and 'rainbow fuzzy bugs', whatever they are.
