At a joint press conference with the Turkish Minister of Education Mahmut Özert , the head He underlined: such cases are outrageous, it is obviously unacceptable to joke about the hanging of anyone, not to mention that such an act is a very serious disrespect not only to the President of Turkey, but also to the Turkish people.
"Therefore, I believe that it is legitimate to expect that such actions cannot take place in the European Union, which is so proud of its own moral standards," he said.
Péter Szijjártó stated that Hungary expects the local authorities to find the culprits. He also emphasized that "of course, our solidarity and sympathy is with the people of Turkey and President Erdogan".
