According to Gerold Otten, Germany, which is the engine of European competitiveness, is also severely affected by war sanctions and faulty social and economic policy decisions. In an interview with Magyar Hírlap, the AfD representative of the Bundestag emphasized: the troubles did not start today, but the mishandling of the coronavirus epidemic and the Ukrainian crisis made them more visible.
Undoubtedly, inflation in the FRG has never been as high as in 2022 since its existence. The deterioration of money jumped from 0.5 to 7.9 percent over the course of two years, and in the meantime, the growth of the economy, which was recovering from the 2020 corona crisis before last year, also stalled: it fell from 2.6 percent to 1.9 percent.
Otten believes that, in addition to the irresponsible monetary policy of the European Central Bank (ECB), the forced and ideologically driven "greening" of the German economy and migration are both responsible for the situation. "Together, these pushed us into a vortex, the bottom of which no one can yet see," said the politician.
As for immigration, last year was also a record year in this regard. Since 1950, so many people have never sought a new home in Germany, but it is also noteworthy that the number of births decreased by seven percent from 2021 to 2022, and the number of deaths increased by four percent, according to a report by the Federal Statistical Office (BSA). It is worth recalling one more figure: in the decade before the coronavirus epidemic, approximately one million young Germans emigrated, mainly to Switzerland and the United States. The BSA survey revealed that the vast majority of them (70 percent) have a higher education, and the primary reason was typically the living conditions and the lack of positive prospects.
Gerold Otten also referred to this when he said that Germany is essentially being exploited by the United States, which relies on its financial strength to lure German companies and the intellectual and economic elite overseas.
"Many businesses and sane people are emigrating, which has unforeseeable consequences not only for us, but for the entire EU," he noted, adding that at the same time hundreds of thousands of people who actually have nothing to earn in Germany and whom the they have to be supported by taxpayers, since no matter what the government promises, the majority of migrants do not work, it does not alleviate the labor shortage.
"The position of the politicians of the coalition excludes that they can do whatever they want from Russia in the future," said the representative, referring to the foreign policy of the Green-Liberal-Socdem government, which is also not favorable to German interests. - Let's look at the bare facts, how did all this go - he continued: - Russian exports have halved. And we try to replace Russian raw materials from dictatorships such as Qatar or Azerbaijan, and of course from the USA, the big brother, who sells everything to us at an overpriced price."
