The "American administration" was not sad about the destruction of the pipeline supplying Russian gas to Germany.

For example, the American foreign minister called the incident a huge opportunity also implicated Liz Truss, who has since been forgotten and the former Polish foreign minister thanked America after the explosion.
The leaders of the American administration were not sad either: according to a video posted on Twitter, Victoria Nuland also expressed her joy at a Senate hearing.
At a Senate hearing, top US diplomat Victoria Nuland celebrated the Nord Stream 2 pipeline bombing:

"Like Senator Cruz, I and I think the administration is very happy that Nord Stream 2 is now, as you like to say, a piece of metal at the bottom of the sea," Nuland says in the video.
Nuland - who is currently the US State Department's Secretary of State for Political Affairs - is also a veteran of Democratic-led administrations, and was America's Secretary of State for Eurasian Affairs during the 2014 Maidan Revolution in Ukraine.
