One of the leaders of the corruption scandal continues to hold an important position in the municipality of Naples, the V4Na news agency wrote. A former member of the European Parliament drew attention to this fact.
Luigi de Magistris , a former member and the former mayor of Naples, took responsibility on Twitter for one of the main suspects in the Brussels corruption scandal, Member of Parliament Andrea Cozzolino, and the current mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi.
It turned out that Cozzolino still holds an important position in the city, namely that he coordinates the public funds intended for the Naples municipality.
The former representative wrote on Twitter that
"the European Parliament suspends the immunity of representative Andrea Cozzolino, but Mayor Manfredi does not revoke his appointment to coordinate the Naples public finance committee, nor does he explain why he chose him for this position. Why?".
According to the mayor, until Cozzolino's guilt is proven, there is no reason to recall him from his position.
