The Ukrainian presidential office also confirmed that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was invited to Kyiv by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainians are ready to take into account the "concerns" of the Hungarian side, to which Kiev is ready to formulate solutions - thus referring to the issue of the right of the Transcarpathian Hungarian minority to use their mother tongue.
The Ukrainian presidential office also confirmed that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was invited to Kyiv by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Igor Zsovkva, the deputy registrar in charge of foreign relations, spoke to Radio Szabadság in Ukraine about the fact that the head of state invited the Hungarian prime minister to the EU summit in Brussels on February 9.
He added that during the meeting, Zelenskiy discussed Ukraine's European integration with Viktor Orbán, and they "engaged in a constructive dialogue."
In the statement confirming the fact of the invitation, it was also said that the two leaders had spoken to each other on the phone before and after the war, but that there are "much more opportunities and chances for an objective and effective dialogue" in a face-to-face meeting.
On the part of the Ukrainian head of state's office, Zhovkva also said that they are ready to take into account the "concerns" of the Hungarian side, to which Kiev is ready to formulate solutions - thus referring to the issue of the right of the Transcarpathian Hungarian minority to use their mother tongue.
Although there is no news yet on whether the Hungarian Prime Minister will accept the Ukrainian President's invitation, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief, previously told ATV News that the Prime Minister will visit Kyiv when it is necessary and timely.
