Magyar Nemzet writes a series about Ferenc Gyurcsány's intimate relationship with Putin. Let's look at the first part.

According to his own admission, Ferenc Gyurcsány and his wife had dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow even half a year after the fall of the Prime Minister. As prime minister, the leader of the dollar left proved to be the maximum servant of Russia's economic interests, and during the 2006 election campaign he even hosted the first man of the Kremlin for a family lunch at the Apró villa.

Today, the leader of the dollar left, Ferenc Gyurcsány, calls Vladimir Putin a dictator, but as prime minister, and even after his fall, he maintained a particularly good, friendly relationship with the Russian head of state.

During his prime ministership, Gyurcsány met Putin six times officially, and after his forced resignation from the post of prime minister, in the fall of 2009, the Gyurcsány couple had dinner together with the Russian president and his wife.

They illustrated with a photo Ferenc Gyurcsány, Klára Dobrev, Vladimir Putin and Lyudmilla Putina chatting cheerfully next to the white table. The meeting took place in a Ukrainian restaurant in Moscow and reportedly lasted two hours.

At the time, Gyurcsány told the newspaper: "I have developed such a direct, human relationship with some of the heads of state and government that goes beyond a correct political partnership." He added: in his opinion, the government of his successor, Gordon Bajnai, is living well with the valuable political legacy of Hungarian-Russian relations acquired over the past seven years.

Gyurcsány then launched into a geopolitical discussion, saying that "today, the three power centers of the world outside of Europe are the United States, Russia and China. For Hungary, the ally and friend is the United States, but we also need to build a close partnership with Russia and China, even if we don't agree with them on everything, because this is in Hungary's interest."

Népszabadság noted that it is not usual for a photo taken of a meeting with politicians who have left their posts to appear on the official website of the Russian Prime Minister, as was the case with Ferenc Gyurcsány and his wife. According to the newspaper, the fact that the wife of the Russian Prime Minister, Lyudmila Putina, was present at the dinner, whose "participation may be related to her personal acquaintance with Klára Dobrev, who was previously among the invitees at an exhibition dealing with children's libraries organized under Putin's patronage", aroused interest.

Recently, Máté Kocsis, the Fidesz faction leader, drew attention to the 2009 dinner on Facebook, and also hinted that there were three Putin-Gyurcsány meetings between 2006 and 2007, and according to him, "after these, Mol's evasion of the for Russians".

In connection with Putin's visit to Hungary between February 28 and March 1, prior to the 2006 parliamentary elections, the Gazprom-owned Russian daily Izvesztiya noted in its article "Hungarian revolution according to the post-Soviet scenario" that Putin came to Budapest to help Gyurcsány and his party with promises of billion-dollar investments. in the election campaign.

Citizens Info: In other words, million-dollar investments from here, or rolling dollars from there. Putin willingly helped Prime Minister Gyurcsány to stabilize his power, just as he is now enjoying the rolling dollars of the West in gaining power. States do not have eternal friends and eternal enemies. States have interests, as we know well from the bon-mot of former British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston.

However, the Gyurcsánys were interested - as the heirs of the internationalist genesis of communism - in serving Hungary to the interests of other countries and larger powers. As if Hungary does not, only a narrow elite has interests, or the Russians, the USA, or Brussels. And in their eyes, our country was always a gateway, and even if it had interests, they were always sacrificed at the smoky card tables of political games. This was the case with Mihály Károlyi, Rákosi, Kádár and this is the case during Gyurcsány's administration, or even in his campaigns.

That is why they find it difficult to bear Viktor Orbán's leadership attitude, the essence of which is that Hungary has interests. Across the border from here and beyond. And for these, he stands up hard, if necessary, against Brussels, the Americans, or Russia. There are also common values, such as Christianity, respect for traditions, and the preservation of human and national identity, along which it is possible to join partners in the field of international relations. And there are constraints, for example the generation of energy, in which pragmatism is the way to go. Putin doesn't hug Orbán's puppy and they don't hold friendly dinners with the Orbán family. They discuss oil, gas, and the operation of nuclear power plants. Orbán is the only one in Europe who is on the side of peace, because Hungarian people are directly affected by the war, so a ceasefire and peace are in the interest of the country.

And because Hungary is the first!
