The vice-president of the Parliament responsible for law-making also explained that Hungary supports Sweden's NATO accession despite everything.
The Hungarian parliamentary delegation led by Csaba Hende arrived in Stockholm on Tuesday. The Hungarian politicians were received in the building of the Swedish Parliament by Andreas Norlén, Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, HVG reported.
The Swedish politician wrote on the parliament's website that the meeting "was held in a good mood" and that it was about the ratification of Sweden's NATO accession. Csaba Hende, who spoke to the Swedish press after the meeting, was more eloquent. The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly responsible for legislation stated that he was satisfied with the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere.
We support Sweden's NATO membership," Hende stated.
At the same time, he did not forget to mention that the Swedes "spread lies about Hungary" and that it would be necessary to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
"It would be desirable if Swedish politicians, government representatives and members of the European Parliament did not suggest, based on completely false claims, that there are problems with the rule of law in Hungary," he added.
When a journalist asked if this meant that Hungary really had no problems with the rule of law, the rights of LGBTQ people and freedom of the press, Hende replied that
he doesn't experience anything like that, but of course anything can be discussed.
To the next question, whether Swedish politicians spread lies about Hungary, Hende answered yes.
