I really love Hungary - said Shea Bradley-Farrell, director of the political analysis institute Counterpoint Institute in Washington, guest researcher of the Center for Fundamental Rights, on Kossuth radio's Sunday Newspaper program. He explained: our country reminds him of the America of the 80s, when more attention was paid to families and there was freedom of speech, which was not suppressed by the government. He said that he was preparing to write a book about Hungary's culture, national identity and national sovereignty for the Center for Fundamental Rights.
He emphasized: Hungary is an example for Europe in terms of freedom. He also emphasized that it is important that our country cannot support all Brussels sanctions in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war, because they would crush its economy.
According to him, this angered the American government and the European Union, which is why they are withholding money from the country, but they are also angry about keeping LGBTQ content away from schools. This is about national sovereignty, what is the decision of the majority of citizens - assessed the director of the institute.
I saw the posters that 97 percent of the people were against the sanctions, and I also know that people expressed their opinion in a referendum, saying no to LGBTQ content in schools, he said.
"God, country, family" is a link on which Hungarian-American cooperation can be based
Miklós Szánthó participated in an American event, where he spoke about Hungary's EU membership, the Russian-Ukrainian war and this year's CPAC.
He declared: the will of the Hungarian people is the basis of national sovereignty, and this is what his book will be about. He wants to make people understand that Hungary knows what it means to lose freedom, since they lived under the occupation of the Soviet Union for roughly 45 years. Try to understand this with those who call Viktor Orbán a Putin fan. He recalled:
the Hungarian Prime Minister said that "Hungary is the first", and according to the analyst, American President Joe Biden should also approach the United States in the same way.
I saw what you Hungarians did for the Ukrainian refugees. I visited the refugee centers last year, they sent significant financial support there, they welcomed the arrivals with a lot of care and concern, said Shea Bradley-Farrell.
There is a big difference between a person cutting himself off from the world and saying as a sovereign nation: we say no to certain things, explained the specialist.
Regarding the relations between conservative think tanks, he said: he is looking forward to his position as a senior analyst at the Center for Fundamental Rights, because he was able to interview for his book, among others, the Minister of Culture and Innovation, János Csák, and the Minister of Justice, Judit Varga. He added: cooperation is getting wider, more Americans will come to this year's CPAC conference in Hungary, and this is the moment that should be seized to build an international network.
He highlighted:
would like to give voice to the work that Hungary is doing and to counteract the negative press reports about our country.
A lot of encouraging things are happening right now and a fantastic CPAC Hungary gathering is on the horizon - concluded Shea Bradley-Farrell.
