Donations of canning equipment with civil cooperation in Salgótarján, Eger and Szolnok

The latest stop of this year's donation tour of the Civil Solidarity Public Foundation and the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests was Salgótarján, Eger and Szolnok. In the course of their charity campaign launched in 2016, they delivered more than 400 home canning devices to 90 locations, among others to catering kitchens, primary producers, and large families.

During the donation program, Kinga Szőnyi , the president of the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests, greeted the attendees first, and then Norbert Heizler , the national coordinator of the Civil Solidarity Forum (CÖF), took over from him.

Norbert Heizler said at their press conference that their civil mission activity started years ago. Previously, their organization designated the group of recipients, this has changed since this year. All over the country, they contacted the county civil community service centers, since they know these organizations best, and they know for whom the donation can be most useful, i.e. where they can make the best use of the canning machine.

So far, more than 400 devices have been handed over to about ninety places, including communities across the border. Among the beneficiaries, NGOs, public catering kitchens, small entrepreneurs and large families could receive home canning devices as a donation. This spring, they will reach ten counties, added Norbert Heizler.

Salgotarjan

At the first stop of the country tour on Wednesday, in Salgótarján, two Nógrád County civil associations received donations courtesy of the Civil Solidarity Forum and the Hungarian Women's Interest Association at the Nógrád County Civil Community Service Center. With the canning machine, organizations can prepare preserves, jams, or even hot tea, which activity can play a role in the life of associations as a community-building program, from the collection of raw materials to processing.

Norbert Heizler emphasized: they feel it is important for organizations to prefer local raw materials. To help with this, a collection of recipes entitled Ízig varáz, compiled with the professional cooperation of master chef Péter Buday, was handed over as a donation along with the canning machines.

Then Zsuzsa Vadasi , the office manager of the Nógrád County Civil Community Service Center, said that they have been professionally supporting the county's civil associations for 11 years now, the number of which currently stands at around 1,800.

- We tried to choose an association from both the eastern and western parts of our smaller country. In the end, we decided on the Duci team from Karancslapujtő and the Ezerszín, Ezernyi Szív Egyesület from Salgótarján. In addition to nurturing the folk traditions of Palóc, these organizations also participate in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, so they will be able to use the device even more widely - argued Zsuzsa Vadasi.

Tamásné Majnek, the vice-president of the Ezerszín, Ezernyi Szív Egyesület, highlighted the fact that, thanks to a contract, they often work together with the Hungarian Red Cross from among the activities of the group formed from a group of friends.

- During the Christmas holidays, we cooked in two places and distributed donations. We found that many elderly, single men who could not cook for themselves came to us for packages. I think it would be a big help for them too if we could use this device to preserve peas, green beans or squash in bottles and give them to them, as they can easily make them for themselves later - underlined Tamás Majnek, who also revealed that the automatic canning machine will be installed as soon as possible they will use it on March 15, when they want to distribute hot tea.

In Eger, two local NGOs, the Egri Norma Foundation and the Egri Association of Large Families, each received home-made canning devices worth about HUF 100,000 each, courtesy of the Civil Solidarity Forum.

The Egri Norma Foundation already has many ideas for utilizing the device.

"We can use it for making tea during so-called workshops or during our blood drives, but the tools can also be used excellently for fruit canning after the Te szedd campaigns organized within the framework of the One-Parent Club," listed Mónika Somogyi, professional manager of the Heves Vármegyei Civil Community Service Center .

The Heves Vármegyei Civil Community Service Center also recommended the Egri Association of Large Families to receive the donation, who will also greatly benefit from the structure.

- The Eger Association of Large Families currently has forty-five member families, which means approximately 250 people, adults and children. Among our members, there are quite a few disadvantaged and socially disadvantaged people, so they will surely make good use of these facilities. said association president Rázsi Botond

Szolnok

As the last stop on Monday, at the Civil Community Service Center in Szolnok, the Gastrocultural Association of Hungarian Connoisseurs and the Regional Tourism Association "Alföld Szíve" received homemade canning equipment from the CÖF.

Dr. Beáta Molnár , president of the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Civil Community Service Center, from the Gastrocultural Association of the Magyar Ízőrzők, said that in 2019 the city of Szolnok won the gold medal in Europe's Cultural Gastronomy City . donation.

The Regional Tourism Association "Alföld Szíve" includes 42 associations and they own the Tourist Round Table at Lake Tisza, according to the chairwoman, they have a wide range of possibilities regarding the use of the vending machines.
