We believe in a democracy based on the consensus of equal nations, and we still want a Europe like this, where they rejoice in each other's success, this would be the key to survival, not an empire, said the Minister of Justice on Thursday at the round table discussion of the Lajos Batthyány Foundation's Globus series entitled Hungary in the midst of European challenges. in Lónyay-Hatvany Villa in Budapest.
Judit Varga stated: the European conservatives can seriously change the proportions in the 2024 European Parliament elections if they believe in a Europe of sovereign nations.
"Brussels wants to force the opinions of internationally funded NGOs on us, this is already an imperial operation. "NGOs put on a philanthropic mask, but they do politics, they call themselves civil, but they act like a party, with a lot of money," explained the minister.
He put it this way: the European Commission "feeds" the NGOs to which it outsources European democracy. It's our job to point this out everywhere until the elections - stated Judit Varga.
The Minister of Justice said, "you have to be in touch with the people, not the elite, we have a direct connection between the legislature and the people, the institution of national consultation is therefore valuable." On the other hand, according to him, what is important for Brussels is whether something is acceptable to the big international NGOs or not.
He called the rule of law procedure a "bureaucratic quagmire in Brussels," adding, "we have to march through it."
He spoke about the double standard and the increasing number of demands, but drew attention to the fact that during such struggles, for example, "we have successfully maintained our anti-immigration position for eight years." "We gain time with the greatest legal creativity, we keep the border closed even if we slowly have to pay fines on a daily basis for breach of obligations, for which we do not let anyone in," noted the minister.
He continued by saying that "the world is moving forward, and the EU's position is to increase the efficiency of returns. We persevered for eight years, and now the world is turning to us," stated Judit Varga.
He addressed the attacks on the Child Protection Act and mentioned that
"accused of violating the freedom of services",
when it comes to the fact that children cannot receive any information at school.
"They can't say that we exclude the LGBTQ lobby from schools, that's why they find such excuses," said the minister, adding that the procedure was politicized because "we hit a nerve," but we don't let them have a say in what we think about the concept of family.
