In Hungary today, more than 230,000 children attend church schools - nearly 120,000 of them in Catholic institutions - to whom it would be worthwhile to show the places of pilgrimage and pilgrimage that have been beautified in the last decade, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations on Sunday at the Búcsúszentlászló in Zala.
At the liturgy held in connection with the completed interior renovation of the Catholic church, Miklós Soltész said: if the church leaders, grandparents, parents and religious teachers show the children these places, the experience of which was given to them at the time, "then there will be no problem with the next generation ".
Many people complain that young people cannot be addressed,
but if we show them the country's places of pilgrimage, these young people will have a community experience that "carries Christianity, faith, and Christ's teaching forward"
- said the state secretary.
Everyone can see and experience how Christianity is persecuted elsewhere, "to the west and east of us," he said.
Now, when in Hungary there is no need to fear that anyone who professes their Christian faith will be attacked, everyone can practice their religion freely, we are facing a huge opportunity, which is also a responsibility - emphasized Miklós Soltész.
The Secretary of State added:
we now have the opportunity to give back what we were able to receive a thousand years ago through King St. István, the adoption of Christianity. If we now return this faith to other countries, other nations, "then we have fulfilled our Christian duty".
Deacon Tódor Szabolcs, parish priest, introduced the mass and said: the church in Búcsúszentlászló was closed for almost half a year, the interior of which was renovated with HUF 30 million in government support, as well as the contribution of local governments and the faithful. They repainted the ceiling, the side walls, renovated the windows, the electrical network, put the main and side altars, and the pews in order. A new wind deflector and two new confessionals were made at the entrance, and the choir was also put in order.
Mayor Gyula Molnár (independent) spoke about the fact that barely two thousand people living in the area keep the church of the farewell place up. However, the renovation caused difficulties because inflation made their plans more expensive.
György Udvardy, Archbishop of Veszprém Archdiocese, celebrated the thanksgiving mass of the Catholic church in Búcsúszentlászló, which underwent interior renovation. After the liturgy, nearly a hundred motorcyclists and half a dozen tractor drivers lined up next to the church, and he also blessed their vehicles.
