Chinese President Xi Jinping is coming to Russia on a three-day state visit on Monday. According to the Kremlin's preliminary information, on Monday evening the Chinese guest will have a face-to-face meeting with President Vladimir Putin and discuss the key, most sensitive issues of bilateral relations and international politics, including the conflict in Ukraine, at a joint dinner. Regarding the latter, Yuri Usakov, the foreign policy advisor of the Russian head of state, praised it and called the settlement plan in Beijing restrained and balanced. On Monday, Putin evaluated the prospects of bilateral relations in an article published in Zhenmin Zipao, and Xi in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
On Tuesday, the presidents will hold talks at the head of narrow and extended delegations. Economic and military cooperation will be discussed, among other things. At the conclusion of the negotiations, the two leaders will speak to the press and sign two joint statements. The first
The first will be about "deepening the relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in the new era", and the second will be about "the 2030 development plan of the key areas of Sino-Russian economic cooperation". In addition, more than ten documents are still being finalized by the parties.
Then, a state dinner will be held in honor of the high-ranking Chinese guest, to which Russian businessmen have also been invited. China is Russia's most important trading partner, and the turnover, which was about 185 billion dollars in 2020, will reach the level of 200 billion dollars planned for next year.
There was no official information in Moscow regarding the third day of the Chinese leader's visit.
The Kremlin announced on Friday that Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Moscow on March 20-22. The Chinese leader was re-elected as the President of the People's Republic of China for the third time last week. The visit to Russia will be his first trip abroad after his re-election. At the end of last year, Putin invited his Chinese official partner to Moscow, during their meeting held in the form of a video conference.
So far, the two leaders have met more than forty times in various diplomatic and unofficial settings.
