The Hungarian people help when there is a problem, and now we must support both those fleeing the Russo-Ukrainian war and those who remained there - said the President of the Republic Katalin Novák, who received the leaders of the organizations of the Charity Council, Ukrainian refugees, including children, in the Sándor Palace on Wednesday In Budapest.
The head of state drew attention to the coordinated, long-lasting and persistent work of charitable organizations, as well as to the fact that, in addition to representatives of aid organizations, civilians, and churches, all Hungarians help when there is a problem. He added that Hungary also helps the people of Ukraine and the Transcarpathian Hungarians.
The head of state announced that he will visit Transcarpathia in April.
Katalin Novák reminded that the Russian-Ukrainian war has been going on for 13 months, which is a daily reality for the people living there, and a threat to the rest of Europe.
The event was attended by Ukrainian refugees, including children, who came from the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, among others.
Ukrainian advocate Liliána Grexa and the Ukrainian refugees thanked Hungary for its humanitarian assistance.
