According to press reports, Kiev's latest plan is to drastically double the transit fee on the Friendship pipeline. Through the pipeline, crude oil is transported from Russia through Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to the western part of Europe.
It is known that Kiev will raise its transit fee again from April, according to which they would ask for an amount of 27.2 euros per ton. Kommersant , the Ukrainians justified the fee increase by saying that they had to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the war. The Russian Transneft has confirmed that it has heard about the plan for the increase, but they do not know the exact details.
They said that Kiev should agree on the details with Hungary and Slovakia. This year, the Ukrainians already raised the price once, when they raised the prices by 18 percent.
