Fidesz in Budapest demonstrated in a video ( you can watch it here ) how successful the "traffic calming" action of the Metropolitan Municipality is, how useful it is to close a section of the lower wharf in Pest at the weekend.
The description attached to the recording reads:
"We were very lonely on the completely empty quay this weekend as well. If the closed quay does not attract the people of Budapest so spectacularly, why does Gergely Karácsony insist on it? Watch the video and answer in the comments!"
Do I need to comment on this?
Why shouldn't the unfortunate mayor stick to his ambitious decisions? After all, he himself describes his every move as great, so what's wrong?Or isn't the chaos that they managed to achieve with the imaginative (and rather accident-prone) designation of bike lanes wonderful? No one else would have been able to do that. Isn't it great that for months they achieved - thanks to the "combined" road renovations - that it became almost impossible to travel in Budapest? No one else could have achieved this. It's not great that the renovation of the Lánchíd - which cost barely 5 billion more than the previous, much more comprehensive and yet cheaper contract promised - took place, but why when cars can't drive on the bridge? Of course, it's great, because in this way it was possible to further increase the crowding of the downtown area. Do you need better than this?
In general, it can be said that this ambitious politician's complete abstinence from expertise is exemplary. He has a solid character, he doesn't give a damn about "traffic management" or "city planning", instead he probably puts his nightmares into practice, even if the professionals (if there are any nearby) try to dissuade him from doing so.
The people of Budapest can be grateful that this huge skull has already announced that it will run again in the 2024 municipal election. I think everyone in the capital will celebrate this with fireworks. After all, nothing is something. Or worse.(Header image: screenshot)
