Pope Francis April 28-30, 2023 makes an apostolic visit to Hungary between The highlight of the visit will be the Holy Mass in Budapest's Kossuth Square, which will be presented by the Holy Father on Sunday, April 30. The liturgy will be presented by the Bishop of Rome - and the clergy who celebrate mass with him - in special vestments designed and manufactured for this occasion. The liturgical vestments were designed by Orsolya Fecske, a nun and painter belonging to the Society of Social Sisters, at the request of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference.
The colors white and gold dominate the vestments, which according to Catholic traditions and liturgical regulations refer to the Easter period. The vestments also include the vestments, the stole, the bishop's hat, the cassock and the dalmatics made for the deacons.
The graphic is based on the motto of the event, which reads: "Christ is our future". Accordingly, the main decoration of the mass vestment is the drawing of the resurrected Christ, which appears as a white light contour against a golden background. Two streams start from his heart (symbols of blood and water), which expand into a river. The image of the river is a reference to the Danube, one of the main symbols of the country, and is also connected to the symbols of the International Eucharistic Congress that took place in our country a year and a half ago. The blue color that appears on the river matches the color of the sky that appears above the head of the resurrected Christ. The blue color is like a bridge between the earth and the sky, which can also remind you of the image of the Virgin Mary.
