A judicial expert is conducting an on-site inspection today at the Buda villa of Bence Tordai, co-chairman of the Dialogue, Magyar Nemzet has learned. The specialist can help decide whether the left-wing politician built II. district, valued his house at HUF 150 million. Several procedures are underway due to the construction. Tordai is in a lawsuit with the government office, which suspended the construction procedure that had been started earlier in the case precisely because of the court procedure. The contractor who raised the fork is being investigated by the police for fraud and other crimes.
Bence Tordai bought a II. district plot, Attila street, a farmhouse stood on the property at the time. The co-chairman of Párbeszéd originally wanted to have this residential property rebuilt in such a way that many elements of the original building would remain. Compared to this, a completely new house has apparently been built on the lot.
The story sheds light on Tordai's personality, since before the outbreak of the scandal, the politician attacked billionaire Péter Csipak's seemingly irregular construction, but since then he has been trying to keep other topics on the agenda. This is how Tordai is built
The contractor commissioned by the politician started work in November 2017, at which time he made a simple announcement through the national construction register that he would rebuild and expand the residential building in the back garden of the property. The works were completed in April 2022, Tordai applied for an official certificate to the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest. The purpose of obtaining the document was for the builder to notify the authorities: the property is ready, the work has been completed. This document is important because, for example, banks can disburse the last installment of a construction loan after presenting it, but the presence of the official certificate is also essential for checks and other subsidies.
Here is the base, where is the base?
After Tordai submitted his application, the government office inspected the property, then the experts reviewed the construction e-log, questioned the contractor and requested aerial photos of the area from II. from the district municipality.
Based on the data, the official certificate will be refused in August 2022.
They argued that although the building shown in the simple notification documentation was erected by the contractor in terms of the dimensions and appearance of the property, not as much remained of the previous house as was included in the plans.
The investigation by the government office established that some walls were demolished down to the foundations, and in some places even the old foundations were demolished, while this was not included in the planning documentation.Bence Tordai also violated the district building regulations, because according to the regulation, a separate building cannot be built on the property in the back garden, unless the additional regulation allows it, but in this case there is no such thing.
The court is curious
Due to the irregular construction, the government office initiated a construction supervision procedure at the same time as issuing the rejection decision, but this was suspended for the time being, as Tordai challenged the decision to refuse to issue the official certificate at the Capital Court.
The first trial day in the trial was held in December 2022. Ripost knows that Tordai is trying to challenge the government office's decision in court on several points . The politician and his legal representative put forward the position that in the procedure for the issuance of the official certificate, it could not have been refused due to problems with building regulations.
According to the LinTordais, the government office could only have established the irregularity of the building in a building enforcement procedure launched in parallel.k textThe authority indicated before the court that it did not agree with all of this. According to them, the prerequisite for issuing the document is that the authority inspects it: the building was built in accordance with the legislation.
Tordai also tried to portray the government office as biased, but it seems that the court did not accept the representative's arguments. The next hearing date for the case is expected to be in April.
The Metropolitan Court ordered expert evidence in the case of Bence Tordai's villa in Buda. As you know, the forensic expert is conducting an on-site inspection of the politician II. at the district house.
The police are also investigating
In July 2022, István Tényi, famous for his reports in the case of the Tordai villa, turned to the authorities, and then the report of fraud and other crimes was brought to the table of the Budapest Regional Investigative Prosecutor's Office. From there, the report was sent to the Budapest Police Headquarters, as in the first round they are not investigating the responsibility of the politician, but that of the contractor. The police can investigate until the dialogue politician's responsibility arises.
Metropol found out that the left-wing politician lied about the brand new building as a farmhouse.
Bence Tordai's villa scandal was sparked by Metropol after it wrote that Tordai, famous for his violent actions, deceived the authorities and built himself a two-story dream villa in the II. in the garden city of the district. The co-chairman of Párbeszéd tried to disguise the new property worth at least 150 million as a farmhouse. Due to the strict regulations, the left-wing politician could not have received a permit to erect a new building on the plot in question, so he decided to deceive the authorities. He lied that he was only renovating the farmhouse that originally stood in the area. Then he caught himself and moved in arbitrarily. The piquancy of the case is that while Tordai was illegally building his house on stilts, he attacked the billionaire Péter Csipak .
Later, Tordai insisted that all permits were in place for the construction, but the Mediaworks News Center learned that the government office had already stated:
the residential building is illegal and unprofessional.
The villa was built with illegal construction activities
The government office determined that the property built on the basis of a simple notification was "illegal and unprofessional". For all these reasons, the office rejected Tordai's request for an official certificate for the house and refused to issue the official certificate. At the same time, he initiated building enforcement proceedings for the illegally built villa. The police are also investigating around Tordai's house. The whistleblower István Tényi turned to the investigative authorities. An investigation was launched into the case for abuse of office.
Tordai claimed he was only renovating the original house, but in the process it was completely demolished
According to Metropol's information, the so-called e-diary, which is mandatory on construction sites and tracks the phases of construction, shows without a doubt that the old house was completely demolished and foundations for a new one were dug by machine. The expert examination also revealed that
"the existing, remaining walls included in the plans cannot be found, a completely new frame ceramic was installed instead"
. The e-log also states that "complete demolition and mechanical foundation excavation" took place. In other words, the house is considered an illegal construction without a permit, and as such, it must be clearly demolished.
