The CPAC Hungary congress begins today, where the world's leading conservative politicians, representatives of the intelligentsia, and media professionals are expected. The Magyar Nemzet asked historian Mária Schmidt, prominent conservative thinker, the House of Terror Museum, and the XX. And XXI. Director General of the Century Institute. The exclusive interview was witnessed by Mandiner. When asked how historically significant the fact that CPAC Hungary is being held two years in a row can be considered, he answered the following:
It indicates that the world is curious about us, and we have something to say to the world. Many people consider it important that there should be a dialogue between Hungarians and between them, that we should listen to each other and think together about the challenges ahead of us. We are on the verge of an era, the world is being rearranged around us. There is a war going on at our borders between Russia and Ukraine. There is a very sharp contrast between China and the United States regarding Taiwan, we see what is happening in Sudan. Important points of conflict have emerged in the world, and we can observe the formation of new federal systems everywhere. The global financial system is also wobbly, as huge banks are going bankrupt. Everyone feels that rapid changes are taking place in many areas, in which we must be able to adapt. We also need to think about what we can do to preserve our identity, so that we can live in peace and prosperity.
To what extent does the Russian-Ukrainian war and its consequences affect the relations between the various conservative parties of the world?
We must make it clear that we are interested in peace, this also determines our position on war. We have to make this clear to our foreign partners, as we agree on a number of other issues and have common interests. Dialogue and personal meetings are necessary precisely so that they can consider our points of view and we can consider theirs. I think it is important to be able to take different opinions into account. CPAC Hungary offers a good opportunity for this, because personal relationships are always much more beneficial than when messages reach each other only through referrals or intermediaries.
He also said that we must protect our culture and traditions and set an example of courage, if the attack of modern isms that are called modern, but are actually based on old Marxist views, must be repelled. The Director General will also speak about freedom, national sovereignty and emancipation at the event.
