Due to the increase in the price of food, the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület is organizing a food collection campaign for the first time in the spring this year.
The association will collect donations in 200 Tesco and ALDI stores with the help of a total of three thousand volunteers
- says the association's announcement on Monday.
In the Great Spring Food Collection campaign, donations can be dropped off at the Food Bank's volunteers wearing green vests, at designated collection points near the cash registers. Volunteers accept donations from Friday afternoon to evening and all day Saturday.
Customers' donations are delivered to the needy with the help of charitable organizations operating in the vicinity of individual stores.
Donors are primarily asked for dry pasta, sauces, rice, canned goods, long-lasting milk, baby food, and because of the upcoming Children's Day, biscuits or other less melting sweets.
In the past 10 years, the association has collected a total of 2.3 million kilos of food donations thanks to the customers and delivered them to the needy. During their most recent Christmas collection, they were able to provide significant support to 48,000 people and families in difficult circumstances out of 241,000 kilos of donations.
