Surprisingly, based on a response to a public interest data request, one of the flagships of the dollar left, HVG, disclosed that Gergely Karácsony spent more than HUF 400 million on his 42 consultants this year alone. This information is a bit blood-curdling, in light of the fact that the mayor constantly complains about empty coffers and government bleeding.

hvg.hu writes that there are currently 42 advisers and chief advisers working in the Office of the Mayor, 17 of whom directly support the work of Gergely Karácsony: these advisers cost a total of 406 million this year . The portal announced the numbers after receiving a response to its public interest data request.

Since Gergely Karácsony took office, an average of 44 advisers have been working at City Hall, as detailed: however, the number of advisers varies: in 2020, 37 people gave advice, and in 2021, 50 people gave advice.

According to the hvg, however, the wage costs of (main) consultants are constantly changing. While in 2020 they cost 26 million gross per month, in the last 3 years they have already cost 34-35 million. As they write: this year, the lowest gross monthly salary was HUF 200,000, the highest was HUF 1.35 million.

The portal also covers: according to the data of February 1, 2023, a total of 42 local government (chief) advisers work in the capital, 16 of them as chief advisers with special tasks, and 26 as consultants.

Their gross monthly wage costs in one month are HUF 33.809 million, which means an annual expenditure of nearly HUF 406 million.

The average monthly gross salary is HUF 805,000, or roughly HUF 530,000 net.

So the dollar media does what their boss tells them to do. With this, the leader of the left dealt another blow to the mayor, as Karácsony had previously complained about the city's lack of money, and now it turned out that he was getting consultants for that. So Gyurcsány once praises him and once gives Karácsony a tasli, thus keeping him completely under his control.
