Illegal migration must be stopped, Italy is facing a turning point in terms of gender, and there are increasing debates about the support given to Ukraine. Interview with Italian MP Simone Billi.
You represent the Italian diaspora and I understand that you were elected with a very high percentage of the vote. How do you see Hungary's role in the global conservative movement?
Hungary is very important. We need to bring together all conservative movements and parties globally, around the world. Hungary has the potential, the capabilities, and the right government. Hungary shows a good strategy for all countries.
How do you see Viktor Orbán's role?
Viktor Orbán presents the strategy and plays a leading role in a very good sense. He is the right person to do this work worldwide. The word revolution is too strong, but the interests of the European population must be looked at from an economic and social point of view, and of course global peace must also be sought.
What do you think about the war in Russia?
The Italian people are very divided, I feel that half of them support Ukraine and the other half want to end the war and stop arms support. There are also strong debates about the future of our continent. In my personal opinion, we should work to find peace as soon as possible.
I hope this war ends as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Italy is plagued by uncontrolled immigration: what about illegal migration?
It is not easy for Italy. But it is not easy for all of Europe either. Europe must sit down at a table and decide together what to do for the benefit of all European countries. Of course, I am a member of the Italian Parliament, but we also have to keep in mind the interests of all European countries. We have to sit down at a table and decide because the numbers are sending us a very serious message. The basis of the problem in Europe is that we have 700 million people and Africa and the Middle East together have more than 2 billion people, so
we can't accommodate everyone, it's not possible.
Are gender-ideological debates also present in Italy?
I think the situation is more or less similar in all countries. In Italy, I feel that something is changing now. Until now, the "gender fluid" phenomenon and the others have been pushing very hard. But now people are starting to think about the danger it poses. I think we are now thinking about the traditional values of our culture's history. Let's start supporting the traditional family. People want to see men as men and women as women.
