Hungary provides the best conditions for Chinese companies in Europe, and will not discriminate against them on the basis of geography under any external pressure, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stated on Tuesday in Ningbo, China.
According to the ministry's announcement, at the opening of the China-Central Europe trade exhibition, the head of the ministry welcomed the fact that China has become one of the five largest investors in Hungary in recent years.
In his speech, he reminded that in 2020 and 2023, most investments came and will come to our country from East Asian countries, which thus greatly contributed to the consecutive investment records and the maintenance of economic growth even in the current difficult period.
"Hungary continues to encourage Chinese companies to invest. We provide the maximum possible support for Chinese companies, which can benefit from the application of Europe's lowest single-rate taxes in the field of personal and corporate income tax," emphasized Péter Szijjártó ."We offer a friendly and fair environment for Chinese investors. Despite all external pressure, we do not and will not discriminate against them," he added.
The minister stated that Hungary would like to set a good example in the future of the benefits of cooperation between China and Central Europe.
He said that the government is firmly against the repeated blocking of the world, because it is against the Hungarian national interest, since Central Europe has always lost in the course of history when there was a conflict between East and West.
"Instead, we favor connectivity, seeing the east-west division of labor as good news in key sectors of the global economy. Separation and risk reduction make no sense," he said .He underlined that Hungary is also a good example here, as it has become an important meeting point for Western car manufacturers and Eastern battery manufacturers, who need each other.
He pointed out that, apart from Germany and China, all three German premium car brands have factories only in Hungary, and four of the world's ten largest electric battery manufacturers are present in Hungary.
He said that the value of trade with Zhejiang province reached 1.6 billion dollars last year, and this greatly contributed to breaking the Hungarian-Chinese trade record, as a result of which China has now become Hungary's number one trading partner outside of Europe.
The European Union will lose if it sees China as a rival, as it has become clear in recent years that the Far Eastern country has an advantage in many areas, so cooperation is more necessary, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in Ningbo, China.
