The memory of Mária Wittner, who passed away on September 14, 2021, is particularly important to us, as the Patriots team had the honor of having a personal relationship with the legend. That is why we decided to expand the traveling exhibition A haza júfjú hösei, whose tableaus included Mária Wittner as the only living personality three years ago.
The traveling exhibition, which has visited twelve locations so far, will now be supplemented with two large-scale picture tableaus, which will tell about Mária Wittner's life and will interpret the ideas of patriotism and camaraderie with the help of quotes from her.
The central element of the renewed exhibition will be an installation reminiscent of a contemporary billboard, on the front of which Mária Wittner, a freedom fighter from 1956, will be shown, while on the back, contemporary wall stickers and prison drawings of political prisoners will help you travel back in time.
The preparation of the exhibition expansion has already begun in the intellectual workshop of the Patriots under the leadership of the invited historian-curator Csaba Hajagos. The exhibition can be realized entirely through public donations, as tender opportunities are not available now. We ask our compatriots that those who respect Mária Wittner's service to their homeland support the expansion and the continuation of the pilgrimage to the best of their ability.
We welcome donations to Patrióták MBH Bank's bank account number 63200171-11070966, please write: exhibition as a notice.
The year before last, we greeted 84-year-old Mária Wittner on her birthday with a special surprise:
"I asked myself the question many times: why did I survive? The question (...) remained an unanswered question mark for many years, for which I could not find an explanation. Today I know that staying alive is connected to a task. I stand here now as an ambassador for those who can no longer speak. I feel like we haven't done everything FOR US. The bit trees and headstones in plot 301 are accusing. (…) That is why I chose this fight and I will be their ambassador, if necessary, their conscience.” (Maria Wittner)
