Előd Novák spoke about this in the Parliament before the agenda: according to him, there are many things that prove the regrettable participation of the Hungarian government in the war in Ukraine.
Among other things, the Mi Hazánk representative included the fact that the government voted for NATO expansion and wartime sanctions.
He emphasized: Instead of compromising the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Hungarian government should prevent Transcarpathian Hungarians from being used as a bullet trap. – After the Ukrainians and the Russians, the Hungarians made the biggest blood sacrifice in this war as well. However, Transcarpathia is the only region of Ukraine that has not yet been hit by a Russian attack.
Let's nail it down, we don't stand for Ukraine's territorial integrity - said Előd Novák.
In his response, the State Secretary responsible for bilateral relations of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs stated that he agrees with Novak that the Transcarpathian Hungarians must be protected, this is not our war.
At the same time, Tamás Menczer stated that Hungary has been on the side of peace since the beginning, and the government has never voted for any sanctions that would endanger the country's energy security.
The Hungarian Prime Minister, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Hungarian government have always achieved that we receive an exceptional procedure in relation to energy, which is why the energy security of the country can be guaranteed even now, he said.
Tamás Menczer finally said that "if I were you, I would be careful with the accusations that the Hungarian left and Ferenc Gyurcsány make about the government, because in the end they end up siding with Ferenc Gyurcsány. They may be against it, but words and actions speak, and the example of the right-wingers sitting next to you shows that this is not a recipe for success".
