László Kövér, the president of the Parliament, sent a telegram of condolence to the president of the Italian House of Representatives and the Senate due to the floods that hit the country and resulted in several victims, the Office of the Parliament told MTI on Thursday.

László Kövér said in telegrams addressed to Lorenzo Fontana , the president of the Italian House of Representatives, and Ignazio La Russa the , many people were injured and huge material damage was caused.

On behalf of the Hungarian Parliament, the Speaker expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the relatives of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy full recovery.

László Kövér assured the Italian politicians that the "friendly Italian people" can count on the help and support of the Hungarian people even in these difficult times.
