The reconstruction of Blaha Lujza tér took a year and a half, 505 days to be exact, which was formally handed over last December, but the full handover is not expected until the end of May. The proposal made in this regard was accepted by the left-wing majority of the Capital Assembly on Thursday. Kata Tüttő, the deputy mayor responsible for city operations, gave a rather rough answer to the concerns raised by Attila Ughy (Fidesz), a representative of the capital, regarding the delay. She admitted that additional work is needed, and even that the project's internal auditor and BKK Zrt.'s specialists are investigating the causes of the problems, but Kata Tüttő did not elaborate on what they are, the official deadline for remedying the problems is May 31 e.

According to Magyar Hírlap, the Metropolitan Municipality Gergely Karácsony , despite the fact that they were aware that the fountains would not work. All of this could have happened so that the HUF one billion state aid provided by the government for the renovation would not be lost due to the slippage.
