Qualified swimmers competed in the competition, which is intended to evoke the historical tradition.

The Transylvanian wine competition, which has been organized by the Association of Hungarian Winemakers of Transylvania for two years now, took place with the judging of nearly 200 samples. The undisclosed purpose of the event, launched in 1999, is to once again draw attention to the wines of Transylvania, Partium, and Szatmár, and to revive the centuries-old wine culture, which has not only economic, but also cultural and social significance.

The competition was held at Géza Balla's winery in Aradhegyalja with the participation of international judges.

About two-thirds of the wines were white, and the unanimous opinion of the judges was that the batches are becoming clearer and more beautiful, which was also reflected in the number of medals.

It is no coincidence, as only those wines that have already performed well at local wine competitions could be named.

The Transylvanian wine competition took place again this year with the professional support of the Hungarian Wine Academy. He won the Academy's grand prize with his 2021 Merlot wine from Fort Silvan, which operates in the Kemer wine region.
