They let her naive, childish, fluctuating emotions dictate the so-called "treatment", so an American teenager sued the hospital where she underwent trans surgery.

A California girl who had her breast removed when she was 13 because she believed she was transgender is now suing the doctors and the hospital that oversaw the procedure.

Kayla Lovdahl, now 18, claims she was "forced into the false belief that she was transgender" when she was 11 by using online influencers, according to her lawsuit filed in California state court against Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and four doctors.

"Essentially, they put the decision in Kayla's hands and let her naive, childish, fluctuating emotions dictate the so-called 'treatment' she receives," the lawsuit continues.

Unsure of what to do when their daughter claimed to be a boy, the parents sought the help of medical professionals, who quickly confirmed the girl's idea that she was transgender.

Lovdahl claims in the legal filing that he was on hormone blockers and testosterone until he was 12 without a proper psychological evaluation. She claims she only underwent a single 75-minute evaluation before her "treatment" began. "A live boy is better than a dead girl," doctors allegedly told the family.

According to Lovdahl, the procedure was "ideological and profit-oriented medical malpractice."

The girl now feels the doctors were negligent and called her previous belief that she was transgender a "mistake". “Kayla was not transgender, and she was not a person that any reasonable physician could have determined would permanently maintain a transgender identity,” the lawsuit states.

"We think cases like this are the best way to stop them, especially in liberal states like California, where reckless ideologues are pushing this radical agenda," said Charles Limandri, the girl's attorney.

Lovdahl, who is seeking damages, claims the procedures have caused him "deep physical and emotional wounds."
