"There is nothing less at stake than our future, the future of our children and grandchildren. And our past is also at stake, everything that our grandparents, parents and ourselves have built. A politically obsessed elite wants to digest everything," said Hans-Georg Maaßen at the last Werteunion conference.
Werte, i.e. Union of Values, is a conservative movement within the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Party community, which was founded in 2017 by party members who preserve traditional values. This was the time when the shift to the left of the CDU led by Angela Merkel and the CSU was already clearly visible.
The social and economic crisis caused by migrants admitted without collars, the climate hysteria, and then the pandemic presented political challenges that, in their opinion, can only be answered by a policy based on experience and values preserved from the past.
That is why they chose the name Value Union, and they wanted to continue to participate in public life as the conservative wing of the CDU.
There have been two federal elections in Germany since 2017. The first one was won by the CDU led by Merkel, who for the sake of political success had long made pacts with all parties to the left and even further to the left, who after Merkel's retirement took over the actual political power and the governance of the country. That's when Hans-Georg Maaßen, the head of the German Office for the Protection of the Constitution, briefly the secret service dismissed by Merkel in 2018, sounded the alarm. Maaßen's crime in 2018 was that he dared to criticize the chancellor, classifying a disinformation statement as disinformation.
The registrar who was sent into retirement has not shut his mouth ever since, his statements have been classified as far-right in democratic Germany for quite some time.
Because Maaßen sided with the vaccine critics during the pandemic, moreover, he relativized the Holocaust, which is an unforgivable sin, and recently he often says that "the war in Ukraine is not our war". Experts found that he uses brown, i.e. Nazi, terminology. In addition, he has recently appeared in Hungary, perhaps collecting ammunition for undermining the German democratic order there.
Despite all this, he was elected leader of the conservative Value Union at the beginning of 2023. The CDU pondered for a while how to make this internal movement impossible. In the media, the Values Union has received the permanent label of radical right, they are trying to conflate it with the AfD. The expulsion procedure from the party was initiated against Maaßen.
In June, the Value Union held a general meeting to renew and amend the statutes in Erfurt. On this occasion, the confirmed president, Hans-Georg Maaßen, gave a speech. What he said is a shocking description of the current political situation in Germany, even for Hungarian ears. If this is not said by a professional with secret information unknown to the public, from the inside of the German world, I would not want to believe it. Instead of an analysis, here is the most striking part of the speech, for information and for the education of all of us.
"...We are facing dramatic changes in Germany. I think most people have already realized that what we see around us is not only the fault of stupid politicians, it is not only the undesirable developments that we perceive. It is an obvious systemic change, which some leading politicians of the Greens and the Social Democrats openly describe as a major transformation, an ecological, trans or climate transformation. They want a different social system than the one contained in the Bonn constitution and which we also represent.
What is happening here in Germany today is no accident. The destruction of the middle class, small and medium-sized enterprises through the economic commando coming from Brussels and Berlin is no accident. Whether it's the crazy climate policy or the crazy energy transition, none of it is a coincidence. It is no coincidence that PC and gender language suddenly appear in the media at the same time, that we are harassed and abused.
The situation is that neo-Marxists have reached high offices, and a climate sect - that's what I call them - is trying to transform the country according to its own ideas. They don't care at all that they go against the laws of physics, that federal laws, the Basic Law or the interests of the German people say otherwise.
It seems that the decisive thing for them is that whoever has the power has the right to do anything, and they use it mercilessly. Obviously, we are dealing with fanatical religious fighters who want to enforce their ideology, and the state finances them from a wide variety of budget sources. NGOs are created and they all live from the state budget. These »civil organizations« carry out tasks that the state cannot perform, they manage certain tasks by outsourcing them to foundations. Such as the Amadeu Antonio Foundation or other organizations that are paid handsomely.
What we are seeing now is a major transformation towards a totalitarian state that, in my opinion, shows fascist traits. Citizens can no longer decide how they want to live, they even tell them how many kilocalories they can eat per day, whether they can eat meat, whether they can go to work by car or go on vacation by plane?
The self-appointed elite wants us to give up everything. No less is at stake than our future, the future of our children and grandchildren. And our past is also at stake, everything that our grandparents, parents and ourselves have built. A politically obsessed elite wants to digest everything.
The political rules of the game have also changed dramatically in this country.
Freedom of expression is limited, it only applies to those who still hold a left-wing position, who support the climate ideology.
If climate change is your creed, then you can debate whether we want to be carbon neutral in 2035 or 2040. But you should not doubt that climate change is caused by humans and that carbon dioxide is to blame, because anyone who doubts this is a climate denier and is therefore immediately classified as a Nazi or an anti-Semite.
This is not just a limitation of freedom of expression, because those who do not believe in the climate ideology, those who do not follow the gender ideology, the anti-racist ideology, are mercilessly excluded. The one-sided media world no longer fulfills its original mission to inform and critically monitor politics.
The media has turned its guns, it is no longer directed at the government and politics, but at those who criticize the government and politics. Namely, to us, to all those who ask questions, to all those who disagree with them.
These people are mercilessly vilified, slandered, vilified, ostracized, and the result is that critical people can lose their jobs and their livelihoods. This is not an accident, this is consciously planned.
The world of parties is now a simple cartel agreement, as they used to say in the East, a left-wing bloc. Because if one chooses the Greens, then Greens, if the Reds, then the Greens, if the Yellows, then we still get the Greens, the Green block. And the CDU also wants to submit to the Greens. He wants to form a coalition with the Greens. Since Merkel, the CDU has been the driving force behind social transformation, climate policy, energy policy, family policy, which we do not want..."
