The white dress worn by Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in the sci-fi classic Star Wars did not sell at auction in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The company Propstore, which organized the auction, initially hoped for a price of up to two million dollars (HUF 680 million) for the iconic piece, but in the end the bidders did not even give the opening amount.
The costume, long thought lost, was found in a London attic and restored.
Other film props and costumes could also be bid at the auction. The clown doll featured in the horror movie Poltergeist went for more than 656,000 dollars (223 million forints). A collector gave more than 587,000 dollars (200 million forints) for the scary, spider-legged head of John Carpenter's 1982 horror film The Thing.
The dress worn by Harrison Ford in The Winged Bounty Hunter was bought for 287,000 dollars (98 million forints). And another costume from the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for 100,000 dollars (34 million forints).
