"Reporting on migrants and shootings is not without danger: there was almost an act of violence when our crew was filming in the Makkhetes forest. It was only thanks to luck and the quick reaction that nothing major happened," Pannon RTV in Szátka wrote on its website.
According to the portal's report, a group of 6-7 people attacked Pannon's crew in the Makkhetes forest near Subotica with sledgehammers and sticks. The migrants came out of the forest and shouted and threatened the film crew with sticks, and then threw Pannon's car.
Dóró Alen has many years of experience behind him. According to him, the current situation is by far the worst since migrants have been present in Subotica.
"Unfortunately, these filmings with migrants are becoming more and more dangerous. There are daily shootings here in the wooded areas. The migrants who stay here are aggressive. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience yesterday, as a group of 6-7 people ran out of the forest and chased us. Fortunately, the car's engine was running, we quickly jumped in and drove away."
According to Róbert Vujković, one of the drivers of Pannon RTV, in addition to driving, his task is also to assess the dangers lurking for the crew: "Our job is to watch, drive, and partly ensure the safety of the cameraman and the journalist. We are the ones who get out first and look around. When they are working, we watch, and if we see something, we immediately pack up and jump in the car and leave the scene so that no one gets hurt," the driver explained his unusual "job description" for drivers in Hungary.
