The aspirant for the position of Minister of Justice asked the Prime Minister that European Union affairs should be removed from the portfolio, which would operate in a clean, traditional Ministry of Justice structure.
Bence Tuzson also said in his statement on Thursday: under his leadership, the focus of the ministry will be the protection of legal sovereignty and the review of judicial practice.
Bence Tuzson - who will replace Judith Varga at the head of the Ministry of Justice from August - emphasized that the ministry's focus will be on the protection of Hungary's legal sovereignty, because in his opinion, our sovereignty has been "under attack" in the recent period.
He called it particularly important that within the European Union the areas under national competence remain and that "we should not think in terms of a European empire", but should continue to "talk about a unified union of nation states with the same rights".
Bence Tuzson named the overview of the jurisprudence as another important topic, stressing that legal services must always consider people's perspectives as the most important. It is important to maintain the independence of the court and further develop the fast and efficient administration of justice, so that a clear jurisprudence develops for the people, he said.
He indicated that, as minister, he would like to discuss this with the representatives of the court system and accordingly, if necessary, intervene with legislative means.
