According to unconfirmed press information, the captain of the Hungarian national football team, Dominik Szoboszlai, will continue his career at FC Liverpool.
Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist and specialist, was the first to report on the 22-year-old RB Leipzig midfielder's change of club. He wrote early Friday evening that the parties have agreed on everything, and that Liverpool will pay 70 million euros (HUF 26 billion) for Szoboszlai.
Szoboszlai was originally under contract with Leipzig until 2026, and although previously it was possible to read about the interest of Newcastle United, in the end Liverpool, which has been doing everything for the player's signature in recent days, may be the runner-up based on media information.
The midfielder's buyout price is 70 million euros, making Szoboszlai the most expensive Hungarian football player of all time.
Szoboszlai could be the second signing of the six-time Champions League winner and 19-time English champion Liverpool, who will be able to participate in the Europa League next season, after world champion Alexis MacAllister with Argentina.
