Hungary needs immigration and immigrants, similar to the example of the Germans and other Western European countries, said Tamás Bauer, the founder of DK. "Hungary will not have a functioning healthcare system until immigration is allowed officially and legally," he added.
Tamás Bauer, the founder and former vice-president of the Gyurcsány party, former leading SZDSZ politician, recently told Klubrádio that he thinks Hungary needs immigration and immigrants, similar to the example of the Germans and other Western European countries.
"If the opposition parties want to behave honestly, they can do nothing but approve [the migration package of the European Commission - ed.] ... society is aging and needs immigration both in terms of the workforce and the financing of the social security system. Is this true? True! And what about Hungary? Hungary also needs immigration! In Germany, the governing parties say that they need 400,000 immigrants a year" ( Germany needs 1.5 million immigrants a year according to the chairman of the independent economic advisory board working alongside the federal government - ed.) - said the politician of the Democratic Coalition, sending a message to the opposition parties too.
Tamás Bauer also calculated that in Hungary this would mean 50,000 to 70,000 immigrants per year.
Then, attacking the Hungarian government, he added: "Hungary will not have a functional health system until immigration is officially and legally allowed. Now, the Hungarian government doesn't know this anymore".
Finally, the founder of DK warned that the left must clearly support Brussels' migration proposals:
The opposition parties are afraid, they are cowards to talk about this, that is why they remain silent on this matter, out of sheer cowardice... I remember that in 2015, the first reaction, at least of the DK, was very fair, Gyurcsány even said personally that the 1,500 can accept a refugee without further ado
said Tamás Bauer.
